There are several business that can range from IT Security to Database Availability, however, the most common reason is that Mainframes hold ‘live data’, while data that is held in the database usually reflects data that is not ‘up-to-the-minute’ current, it needs to be ‘exported’ (or pushed) up to the database that will be storing it.
In many instances, the business requires the data that the bot intakes to be ‘real time data’. Thus, Mainframes will still need to be accessed via the Terminal and the need to create more efficient and dynamic automations through RPA software to allow for even quicker/efficient processing will still be required.
